Enable email change for users with "social" logins (Google, Coinbase, Apple)
submitted
Users Feature Request:
Users who create a CoinTracker account with an email/password combo can now change the account email
here.
However, users who have created their CoinTracker account using a Google, Coinbase, or Apple log in cannot change the account email.
This is a feature request to allow them to do so.
As a user, what can I do?
- As a temporary solution for users with Social logins who want to change their email, we recommend users create a new CoinTracker account with the desired email and re-add their wallets and exchanges to the new account. We can then transfer your plan to your new account
- You can upvote this feedback post to indicate you would like this feature added! The post status will be changed to Completeshould we pursue this feature. Up-voters will be notified of the status change.

In a world where things like this happen -- https://www.cbsnews.com/news/bitcoin-torture-case-what-we-know/ -- those of us who carelessly linked a crypto account to our socials need to be able to switch accounts over to an email address that is less easily traceable. Been with cointracker for years, starting over should not be required.

Forcing longtime CoinTracker users paying for years of subscriptions to start over with a brand new account is not acceptable. Please allow users to disable Google (social) logins and instead use an e-mail/password.

this needs to be a feature. it should update to whatever coinbase or your social network is using as an email OR just allow us to change it ourselves

This is a disappointment to have to start all over. I suggest Cointracker looks at a feature to be able to disconnect a Coinbase social log in with an email. If I need to reconect all my wallets, I might as well research further the competitors and find a new vendor.

This is a much needed feature, as some of us no longer have access to the emails used when signing up via Socials. I can update the Socials, but not CT, and thus am locked out of certain Support features in the meantime.

This suggestion requires a lot of work on the part of your users. Please do better.

Users Feature Request:
- As a user I would like to be able to log into my account using an email + password even when I have a social login such as Coinbase, Google or Apple.
As a user, what can I do?
- Users will need to login into their accounts using their social logins at this time. Users that would like to set up email + passwords will need to create a new account with the appropriate credentials (different than their social login credentials).
- You can upvote this feedback post to indicate you would like this feature added! The post status will be changed to Completeshould we pursue this feature. Up-voters will be notified of the status change.

I'd like to change my account from Google login to password login instead of / in addition to Google login. I think that's within the scope of this issue?

Zaffre blue Canidae Any update on this? I use Monarch Money to track my finances, and the Plaid integration only works with email / password sign in.
Ideally I could change cointracker from google auth sign in, to email / password, or the plaid integration would be updated to support google auth!
