Bug Report: Unable to Select the Correct Token When Multiple Assets Share the Same Ticker
What is the issue?
When multiple assets share the same ticker symbol (for example, bridged or multi-chain versions of the same token), CoinTracker does not reliably allow users to select or save the correct asset when creating or editing a transaction. In some cases, the selection reverts back to a different asset, or the edit does not persist at all.
Who is affected?
Users who hold or transact with assets that share the same ticker across different chains or ecosystems, such as bridged tokens or assets deployed on multiple networks.
What is the workaround?
Users can create a
custom currency
and use it in their transaction edits to correctly represent the intended asset. After creating the custom currency, update the transaction to use it as the asset. Note that this is a
manual edit
; once this issue is fixed, the manual edits should be
removed
and the native asset re-selected.
